Are you having 2 or 3 readers? I am confused about the responsorial pslam. Is that the third reading or is that done by the singer?

Re: Catholic Brides who are having a ceremony
We only had 2 readers -one reading from the Old Testament, one from the New. We did have the option of choosing another reader to read the Prayer of the Faithful, but we chose to have the priest do it.

Re: Catholic Brides who are having a ceremony
The weddings I have been to have 4... 1 for first reading 1 for second reading & 2 for the prayer of the faithful.
That is what I plan on doing as well.

Re: Catholic Brides who are having a ceremony
For the ceremonies I have been two it has been a reader for the Old Testament, a readre for the New Testament and 1 or 2 readers for the Prayer of the Faithful. I always thought the responsorial psalm was sung as well by the vocalist.

Re: Catholic Brides who are having a ceremony
Ours is only two, one for the Old Testament one for the New Testament and the Resp. Pslam is sung by the Organist.

Re: Catholic Brides who are having a ceremony
Hm, thanks for the feedback...I guess I will have to try to find out from the church again. Maybe it is optional if you want the resp. pslam done by the vocalist or recited by a chosen reader. I need to get going on my programs though so I need to know!
