Did your priest challenge you to be abstinent or bring up the topic of sex?
i dont live with FH but from what I remember, the priest wanted the couples who lived together to try not living together for a little bit before the wedding.
Anyone else? We are meeting with the priest because he says he needs to talk to us before pre-cana (in March)... I just want to know how these meetings go.

Our priest never brought up those topics. Our meeting was very easy. And of course, he agreed to marry us!! HTH!!
our church actually never asked us if we live with one another but we are going to tell the priest (if he does ask) that we only recently got an apartment together because it was becoming difficult to save and pay for the wedding while pay two separate rents/bills a month.
I don't think he will deny us, but he may encourage more confession and try to remain abstinent... I just think he was trying to scare us when he told FH 'I've only denied two couples in 21 years of marrying couples.'
It has to depend on the church and priest. When we went to pre-cana we spoke about sex...however, we were never told not to have sex before the wedding. Also when we spoke with the priest we made him aware that in fact we do live together and at no point he brought the sex subject up.
Our priest didn't bring it up at all! He was super nice and accomodating.

NO. why would the priest changelle that. Both times I went to a church to set up a wedding that topic didnt even come up and it was two different churchs. The church also knew we lived together from the paperwork and from filing permission to get married in the chuch since fh is jewish and neither of us had been married before. I was worried the first time I contacted rockville centre and they said a priest cant say he isnt going to marry you because you live together or even have children together they understand most couples do before they get married. If you have a problem call them.
There is a separate section of the FOCCUS test that is questions for couples who currently live together. Our priest told us that the church understands that couples live together now and that's why they have that section, and that you should be honest and answer that section if you're living together.
