Did your priest challenge you to be abstinent or bring up the topic of sex?

There is a separate section of the FOCCUS test that is questions for couples who currently live together. Our priest told us that the church understands that couples live together now and that's why they have that section, and that you should be honest and answer that section if you're living together.

No prob. We first met with the church 2 months after getting engaged (1.5 yrs ago now)...at that point FH wasn't really moved in, so we filled out our paperwork with separate addresses. We did the FOCCUS test more than 6 months after that, and that was when we noted that we lived together. No one seemed to blink. I'm sure you'll be fine!

Yes I would be honest with them, even now. You will feel better by being honest.

I have been living with my FH for 3yrs and we were honest with the priest. The priest didn't seem to be to put off by it but he did ask why we decided to do that and then gave me a statistic that said more marriages failed when they lived together but in our focus group that couple actually said I should move back home for a bit! After 3 yrs that is not going to happen! The pre cana couple though did not judge at all and there are 6 couples there and 4 live together so its way more common now.

when we first met with the priest to book the wedding, when asked for our address, FH blurted out 'we live in sin.' The priest laugh and said that is not how they put it, but... and it was kinda left at that. Nothing about sex yet, but we also arent doing precana till march

they didnt say anything to us...we live together and have a child together

Guess it depends on the priest. I know there are couples who have children already, etc. I just think he was trying to make us nervous...

we don't live together but our priest never brought the subject up at all. i thnk it depends on the priest and the church

FH and I now aren't getting married w/ priest b/c priest and rabbi was going to cost us soooo much for the ceremony. But the deacon didn't even mention it and pre- cana was open to it! My cousin though told her priest and he told her she was living in sin!!! I don't remember what church it was- it was one out in east wind. She requested a different priest!!

Nope- our priest is awesome. He seems a little stodgey when you meet him, but we spent the majority of the time talking about wine tastings, vineyard tours and Napa Valley.

not the preist... the people who ran focus. but there was no pressure- they just encouraged it so that marriage feels different. i have loved my precana and church experience so far!!

we just had the initial meeting w/ teh preist to see if we loved eachother and that was it.
we live together and the only time sex was brought up was at precana and they said try not to for like a month b4
