Anyone know about how much the mandatory donation to the church is? We are getting married at Our Lady of Lourdes in Massapequa Park, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I think it really depends on the church--we are going to get married at my church, St. Killian in Farmingdale and it's 500. My fiance's church, St. James in Levittown is I think upwards of 1,000. I don't think either of these prices are mandatory, but don't quote me on that!!

Depends on the church! The first church we booked at was $900, the one that we're booked at now (and sticking with) is $675

Ah ok. Thanks! This is a small church, so hopefully it's not too much.

Generally speaking, the smaller the church the smaller the contribution they request.

Re: Catholic Church donation
Every church is different. Mine is on the higher side... $650 for the church, not including the cantor and organist.

We are getting married at Cure of Ars in Melville and our 'donation' is $850 but that includes the organist.

Also may depend on whether or not you belong to the parish. It's lower if you're a registered parishioner.
