Catholic Church in Queens or Brooklyn

How many days or weeks is usually Pre Cana for? Also what types of questions they ask you.

We went 1x a week for 3 weeks...and they didnt ask us questions....it was a speaker and we listened..they didnt make anyone feel uncomfortable about speaking....you are supposed to take what you learn and the books your given and discuss certain topics with fh in private!

That sounds really great i hope mine is like that. My priest made it seem like its just him and us so i'm scared to death lol..i don't want to have to answer embarassing questions.

sometimes the churchs require you to meet with the pastor privately before they will do you wedding. Are you sure that isnt what he was talking about. Our pastor isnt doing that because he knows FH and I. But my friend had to do it and they asked things like what are your expectations on marriage, have you discussed how many children you want to have together. Basically they go over all questions/issues that are considered annulable. They just want to cover everything that could cause a couple to have major fights. PreCana is usually a group of couples so that you can listen and share ideas. Some places you can do it in one or two days while other churchs have it every weekend for a few weeks

Maybe so but when i spoke with my pastor actually right after i posted this question he said that the days may fluctuate because he may have weddings and baptisms on the weekend. So i may have to go during the weeknight. I have a feeling it will be him and us..eeks.

We did not have to answer any questions out loud all of the discussion was between me and FH. Our pre cana was Friday evening and Saturday. We had a good time believe it or not!

for queens you can pick any that they do, i went to the site and went to the one in Douglaston. They had a whole schedule of many different dates and we were able to pick ourselves how we wanted to do it, either do the 2 day pre-cana, or go once a week for a few weeks or do the retreat. We did the 2 day pre-cana and we also picked which session we wanted to do. You just sign up for it online
