Re: catholic church question
From all the posts i have read, this seems to be a popular question.
Lying is not really a good idea, it doesnt make any sense to lie in order to get married right.
all the girls who said they were living together, said the priest didnt even flinch. Some even said that it was better, some did say oh you shouldnt live together. BUT NEVER have they refused to marry people. You can be 8 months pregnant and get married in the church!!!!!
They want your money, that is all. They arent going to turn away your $$ in times like these!

Re: catholic church question
i wasn't really telling her to go ahead lie. i was kinda being sarcastic .. hmpf, now i look like the @$$ . lol
i'm not getting married in the church, cause neither of us go, but i just said 'ha i wouldnt.' b/c my friends were denied from the CC b/c the lived together. i shoulda said ':insert sarcastic face here:' after the 'i wouldnt'
lol ok i think i need to go back to bed, im rambling

Re: catholic church question
You should do a search on here, most girls said the priest never even asked, and when they put down the same address, he didnt say a word.
I have not heard of a church not marrying you cause you lived together, that is absurd. Was it a very very religious church???
I just feel lying is just starting off on the track. There are so many churches out there, I cant imagine them saying no, and then you taking your business elsewhere to a differnet church.

Re: catholic church question
Yea, It was a really strict church. No marriages if you already had kids.. But who knows, this was a while ago... The priests are different now ...

Re: catholic church question
lol! I bet!! I haven't been to church in a while.. Just holidays, sometimes.. Moreso Good Friday. lol
I don't really have a feeling about it, because I'm not getting married in a church. We're keeping it all at one location. lol

Re: catholic church question
The priest I met with was very laid back. He didn't ask about anything like that.

Re: catholic church question
My priest didn't even ask, but he does ask for your addresses for the paperwork and stuff. FH and I don't live together, so we gave seperate addresses. Maybe if you guys gave your parents addresses, he won't even bother asking since they would be different.

Re: catholic church question
My priest didn't ask either. We didn't volunteer the information and when he asked for our addresses, FH gave his home address, but he had to do that anyway because we live far from the church and if its not either of your home parishes then you have to get all these release forms and stuff...

Re: catholic church question
They are probably not going to ask you if you live together but they will ask you your addresses so just give your parents address, but i would not lie to a priest, ha, thats kinda bad!

Re: catholic church question
I dont know what to tell you on that one.. I wish i did.
I am kind of dreading having to meet with the priest. I do not go to church, FH goes every Sunday. When he went to see about getting married there the priest said he had to have a talk with him before letting him officially book.
and it is a conversation he must have 'alone and for atleast a half hour.'
i dont know what that means.

Re: catholic church question
most priests will not book anything until they meet with both the bride and groom, mine wouldnt even see us separate. that doesnt mean much, youll be fine, i never go to church either.

Re: catholic church question
i was wondering the same thing when i went to see the deacon...well, my FH and i live together, but when he asked us for our addresses i gave him ours...and FH game him his parents. He did this b/c he never actually legally changed his address so all of his mail/bills go to his parents house anyway. So he always gives people that address. So, for us...it worked out.we didnt lie, b/c he never actually asked us if we live together, he just asked for our addresses. Dont know if that would work for you. I have heard though, that if you get married in the Catholic church you have to raise your kids catholic. He didnt ask us though...he only asked us if we were going to have kids, and you have to say yes.
