I called this morning to set up an appt to meet with a priest to book the church. They took my name, # and wedding date and told me a priest will call me back. How long does it take for them to get back to you? I am very anxious to get this done, since i have everything else booked!

every church differs. FH and I were looking for churches in LI, so we contacted a BUNCH of places. some never responded. others we called 3+ times and saw at the church....but still didnt respond until about a month later. one church made an appt and stood us up
but one called right back that day!
so it all varies. i hope your church is responsive! good lucK!

How unprofessional!!!! How can they not call you back? i think maybe I will just show up at the rectory and ask to speak to a priest if they dont call back by tomorrow.

sometimes the pastors are very popular and get busy. it was a struggle to find a church.
but if this is your parish, i would think they would be more responsive. our issue is that we were non-parishioners, since we are coming from BK and QNZ.

It's FH's Parish. I just called back and the receptionist promised me that he will call me back. I made sure that I mentioned that it was FH's parish this time.

the priest at my church called me back later that same day. some priests are very busy though. the priest that is marrying us is a family friend and he is impossible to track down.....i leave him messages and sometimes it's 2 weeks before he calls back.

My chuch called back the same day- Heads up some churches get really upset if you tell them you booked the reception hall first...my priest told me technically you are suppose to book the church first.

they wanted to do the appointment that night too but I had to wait till the weekend!

My church took about two weeks, but one week the priest was on vacation. I called back a lot and made a general nuisance of myself, though. the receptionist always told me the priest would call back that day... so I called every day until I got him
