Catholic Mass question
Re: Catholic Mass question
This may be a dumb question but do your parents belong to a Church because as long as one parent lives within the parish, it wouldn't be a problem. At least for my Church.....
Re: Catholic Mass question
We have the same problem, but decided to have the ceremony done at the reception site...by a Catholic priest if everything falls into place.

Re: Catholic Mass question
also... if you went to church when you were younger and received sacraments there, they may marry you even though you are out of the area now.
Re: Catholic Mass question
You might be having trouble because Catholic Parishes will always prefer to marry people who are members of their own parish before they open up dates to outsiders. Someone mentioned family members who are members of parishes which is a really good idea. You could also contact the Diocese of Rockville Center, explain your situation, and they will probably be able to point you in the right direction. HTH!
Re: Catholic Mass question
My bro & his wife got married in Glen Cove at a pretty catholic church (MAYBE St. Gertrude's???) He was a member of a church in Bayside & she was Protestant...they didn't have any problems
Re: Catholic Mass question
When my sister got married, Nor she or my BIL where members of St. Joesphs in Kings Park. The church married them anyway. I think they ask you to become members. I think it will be fine as long as you both have your confirmation.
Re: Catholic Mass question
Our parents are members at a different church that we will be using, but we did look at St Patrick's in Smithtown and they were willing to marry us even though we had no affiliation w/ them, so you may want to try there!
Re: Catholic Mass question
