Re: Catholic Priests Who Perform Outdoor Ceremonies?
the only ones that will do this are ones who no longer belong to a parish. even Fh's family priest who has known his family like forever won't do it. its because its a sacrement therefore it should be performed in the church when possible. i say when possible because they will do outside the church under extreme circumstances.

Do a search on this...there have been many brides that posted about this...
Basically, you need to decide if you want your marriage recognized by the Church for the Catholic (if it is inter-faith) or for both of you if you're both Catholic. A practicing priest or a retired priest that did not LEAVE the priesthood because he got married, kicked out, etc. etc. will NOT perform a wedding outside and have it be a sacrament. it must be inside a church. if you are inter-faith, you may be able to get married outside depending on your situation and the faith of the non-catholic (ex. a Jew that will not enter a church for example, or another religious leader (rabbi, etc.) that will not enter a church). Even then the priest would only perform the marriage outside if the Catholic completed the necessary paperwork agreeing to rasie all children Catholic and that the couple completed Pre-cana.
If you just want a 'priest' to perform a ceremony in the Catholic tradition, there are many out there that people can refer to you (there are some in the vendors section on LIW). your marriage will be legal of course, but not recognized by the Church as a Sacrament.
