Does anyones cat wheeze when they sleep. I constantly find myself waking my cat up to stop him from wheezing....he only does it when he coveres his head, so i try and stop that by waking him up and hoping he goes into another position. Last night it went on all night and the poor thing can't figure out why i am waking it up? Anyone? Should i bring him to the vet??

Re: Cats and Wheezing
Is he a fatty? One of my kitties does that when he is in certain positions. I think it's cute and it doesn't really wake me up. I think it is because he is a bit on the heavy side. Plus he can't really meow so I just consider him extra special. I wouldn't be worried.

Mine does. And he snores too! But he's a himmy and is extreme faced so the vet just laughs at me (he says, how else is he supposed to breathe, he doesn't have a nose? LOL). But if your cat is doll faced (regular face) then I would mention it to the vet. It can't hurt - but I wouldn't get concerned.

my cat wheezes in his sleep too - it's not all that loud, so it's pretty cute. i usually shake him or touch him and he stops.....it started as he got older....he's 14 now....so i guess it's for good
