CD favors...PICS
Over the weekend, I finally finished these up! Well, I finished 2 totally. I had FH's grandpa 'design' the label...it's not perfect, but he REALLY wanted to do them and I REALLY don't want to do them....and I'm too busy to go by kinkos and see if they'll do it....it all works out. He is doing the rest this week...then I'll take a pic of that...ewww heehee. It has our pic on it and our names, that's it.
Below are the pics. The first one is the completed project all tied up in silver and red ribbons (our colors). The next is of the 'cover' and the third is of the track list on the inside. The last pic is the one used on the labels and our names our across the bottom.
Materials needed:
-song list
-CDs (CD-Rs are fine, we made 120 but had to buy for 150...but we'll use the CDs for something so that's fine)
-paper (i actually just used our computer printer paper b/c I buy the 'thick' kind. I had bought silver paper, but it didn't print well.
-ink for printer (again, we'll need for everyday, so not a big deal)
-jewel cases. we used slim/clear cases.
-ribbon to tie/make pretty
-place cards. (i bought the print-your-own from ACMoore...and just printed out the names of the couple/guest receiving the CD)
-paper punch...i bought a heart shaped one (just a little extra touch that some will and some won't notice)
-the tunes!!! courtesy of CDs you own or music you of course have LEGALLY downloaded![]()
-paper cutter....simple is fine...i used the one that slides b/c i didn't want to make the comittment with a 'lever' style.
-PATIENCE. cutting out the covers became tedious and so did designing the labels. luckilly, i've been smart enough to work on this slowly...since February...so it hasn't been too painful.
TIP-if you choose to have names on like we did, after receiving a good amt. of YES RSVPs, i simply took those names and made the placecards. This way i'm not doing it all in the month before the wedding b/c cutting the ribbon just right and tying them is hard work.
We went a little pricy by adding the ribbons and placecards, but the cost breakdown is around $1.15/CD (can be done for much less, this factors in full price paid to make 120 when supplies covered 150 (CDs and cases were in packs of 50)...and no, not considering INK or the paper used into cost as we already owned those) Originally, I figured them out at about $.94 each...but I added embellishments.

FINALLY...the finished labels are done!!!! I am soooo proud of myself because I tried making these months ago and gave up and then had FH's g-pa ready to do it but he wanted me to buy ALL the cartridges for his epson printer (over $100) plus the labels...so then I hit up Kinko's, but they put the image on CDs and couldn't use mine (and I'd already put the music on)...so in desperation, I grew some patience, and did it myself!!!
