Danielle and I have a t mobile family plan which finally ends next week. We are looking to get away from t mobile because they are the worst cell phone service that I have ever had. They have great customer service, but that is about it.
What cell phone services do you recommend? I know most of you will say Verizon, but im not sure we want to spend $40 a month plus taxes on a cell phone plan. We can get such better deals, on AT&T, or Cingular.
Does anyone have Cingular, At&t, Sprint, or Nextel? Do you recommend it?
Also what phone do you have? Do you recommend it?
If we go with AT&T or Cingular, we are going to go GSM. My sister has it and she loves it.
We need the phone to work well in Levittown, Wantagh, Bellmore, Merrick, Oceanside, And then also on the north shore of long island, Like Port Washington.

I noticed that most of Verizons deals are for two years. I dont know if I want to be stuck in a plan for two years...Even if it is the best

I love my TMOBILE. I never have any problems. My DH however has Verizon and has said on several occasions that he would like to pay to get out of his contract and switch to Tmobile.
ETA: DH had AT&T and liked them they where more money the Verizon

You can sign either a one or two year agreement with Verizon....I think to sign a one year it is $15 activation & 2 years is $35...

I have AT&T and it is not the best. The merger with Cingular did not make things better either.
I get a lot of dropped calls - sometimes when just sitting in the SAME SPOT?!?!? I have GSM service and a Nokia 6800 phone (xmas gift last year from FI). I think my plan is $59.99 with about 600 day minutes and unlimited nights and weekends. I also get a 10% discount since the guy who signed me up with GSM service (I already had AT&T service) put me on some discount plan for companies that have group plans.
FI is signing up with Verizon later this month once his contract ends. He has Sprint now -which sucks. I plan to sign up for Verizon in January when my AT&T contract ends.
Verizon will be better for us anyway since I tend to go over my 600 minutes a lot (calls from FI since he does not like to call my office line). LOL

According to the guy at the verizon store, Verizon doesnt offer any deals.
Danielle and I went there today and we decided that the plans that Verizon has does not include the amount of minutes that we want. It is ridiculous for us to pay $59.99 a month plus takes for 400 minutes. So instead we are going to go with at&t. We will get a free GSM phone for each of us....And all the other good stuff for $14.99 a month... Scott
