We are hopefully closing and moving to Wantagh this summer summer, and are currently shopping for a wireless family plan that would work well in the area. T-Mobile is our number one choice for now, but we looked at the coverage map and the signal strength is not that great in parks around Wantagh and nearly non-existent on Jones Beach. Verizon coverage seems to be better, but will have to pay more money for the same minutes without unlimited calling between the lines.
Which provider is your family plan with? Have you been happy with your service / signal strength / coverage?

i love verizon and have been very happy with it for the past 3 yrs... I dont understand how you dont have free calling btwn lines... if you are on the 'in' network, anyone you call who has verizon is free minutes...

As I understand it only incoming calls are free for Verizon. T-mobile has unlimited calling between the lines. But yes, I have heard a lot of positive things about Verizon.

I just recently switched from Nextel to Verizon. I have heard so many great things about Verizon, but honestly my service was much better with Nextel. They are both the same price also. I am located in Centereach.

I've lived in Wantagh for years and can tell you that T-Mobile sux here. The phone didn't even work in my house. I have Verizon now, no problems, but my friend in Merrick has Verizon and gets no signal on her block.

not on my bill... i can call and recieve calls from any verizon custumer for an unlimited amount of minutes...

T-Mobile is adding towers left and right in Long Island.
I was very hesitant to switch from Sprint to T-Mobile.... but I did and its actually pretty good.
T-Mobile service now is 100x better than what it was 1-2 years ago.

I have NEXTEL and I love it! I have used Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T, NEXTEL worked the best for me. You have free mobile to mobile, as well as the walkie talkie for short convos. What sold me was that ALL incoming calls, no matter who calls u, no matter the time of day, it is free!
I also get the best service with it!

I just recently got FH to switch from T Mobile to Verizon and he says it was the best decision he made. We have free calling between and verizon lines, not just because we are on a family plan. I can call my mom (or vice versa) who is not on our plan for free.
