Centerpeices with LEMON slices.

This is a stupid question. I'm sure you've all seen centerpeices with the lemon slices in the vase like this.

I want to make similar centerpeices for my sister's bridal shower. Does anyone know if the lemon or lime juice is harmful to the flower? I don't have time to make it the morning of the shower so it will have to be the night before. Will the flowers last all day with lemon in the vase?

I think they have to be kept in the frig.

So if I keep them in the fridge, the flowers should last through the night with the lemons in it?

I've seen them in bridal magz, so I assume they won't hurt the flowers.

I don't know if the flowers would last overnight in the fridge. Maybe set up the vases the night before, then just pick up and add the flowers in the morning?

Sam, according to this poster on weddingbee the lemons help keep the flowers fresh. She made her centerpieces the day before put them in the fridge and said the flowers bloomed even more.

Yup. If you put them in the frig the night before, they will be fresh.

I made this CP myself for my friend, and you need to put the flowers in with the lemons or else the lemons will fall off the side of the glass. she kept it on her table without being refrigerated and it lasted all week. I've also seen this CP at a wedding and it lasted all day...so I would tell you not to worry about it
