Centerpiece for a shower

Original post by JamieAnt06202009

I have been helping my mom plan my shower and now we have to decide on something for centerpieces. I did Gerber daises for my e-party so I want to do something different. My shower is at the Milleridge Inn and the tables there hold 6-10 people and they are round so they are fairly large. Do you ladies have any good ideas that won't break the bank?

Oh they look like peonies! Sooo pretty! I just googled that! Yes I think cabbage roses would be soo pretty!

How many do you think I would need per vase?

Ok... here is what I did with the box... so you would do this on the top of the vase.. and it will hold the flowers up right so they stay in place. Also you wont need as many flowers for a full look.

next I'll look up the butterfly hair peice.

That seems easy enough. I am so excited with all of these ideas!!!!

it's super easy! I just did one in less than a minute. You would of course measure the spacing a little better. And it will look professional.

I think buying the vases wholesale online would be cheaper than going to a store for them. That one sight sells them for $34 and you get 8 I think! that's a good deal! How many tables do you have?

I think I will only have 6 or 7 tables so it would work perfect.

Not that many because those flowers are large... so only like one or two per square on the vase.. so it depends on the spacing. Looking at the box I used (which is a rectangle) there are 20 squares/spaces for the flowers. I wouldn't make each square larger than an inch... they flowers need some room but not too much. So I would say approx 16 per vase? I don't know the price of the cabbage roses.. but you can also mix in a less expensive flower if that one is too much $$ to do 16 per vase. I don't know how many CP's you need either.

No Problem! Just promise to post pics when you make them! I can't wait to see them! Even though I can picture them in my head. I'm a very visual person.

I wish my BP would let me help with some of these things... but I don't think they will. I think they want it all to be a surprise... but I don't mind helping them at all.. I'm the crafiest one out of my friends.

Oh.. one more thing.. be careful not to put the tape down too far or you will be able to see it. As a quick fix though and it might actually look really nice.. you can wrap a ribbon around the top part to cover the tape.

I make CP's for my house all the time.. and I don't remember seeing the tape show .. but on the box you can see it... so that's just a suggestion just incase you can see it.

I am having a pretty in pink/ pink and brown themed shower and my CP's will be empty gift boxes wrapped in pink and brown paper and ribbons. Not sure if this will work with your theme though.I can get the boxes for free via a friend and pretty but inexpensive paper on sale at target or walmart etc ....I am also going to add a few votives as well.

Are you looking for flowers or something even less expensive than flowers?
Also, what are the colors/theme of the shower? That would surely help us help you.

Hurricane with candles and rose petals is always a nice inexpensive touch. You can even put a mirror under it for some extra glitz and shine!

I have been thinking about flowers or plants either work. My theme was supposed to be a butterfly theme but I haven't come up with anything with butterflies yet. So I guess now it's more of a spring theme. I want it to be a little colorful.

ooooh..... look for big watering cans... I bet Michael's or AC Moore would have them and put a potted plant inside... so cute and inexpensive!
