Is anyone doing something special to giveaway their centerpieces or are you just letting who ever wants them take them??
I went to a wedding where the DJ had only the women at the table play a game. The woman with her birthday the closest to the couples wedding date got the centerpiece. What do you tink about this idea?
Any Ideas??

I think it's a good idea. I will probably do somethign similar. Or you coud give them the couple at each table whose anniversary is closest to the wedding date.

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
At my friend's wedding the dj also gave it to the person at the table whose birthday was next. At her shower everyone had to look under their bread dish and whoever had a sticker on the bottom of theirs got to keep the centerpiece.
I really like the anniversary idea though!

Yeah I remember those games that if someone had a card or piece of paper under their plate they win the CP, hahahaa. I will not be doing this, whoever claims it first gets it!

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
I like the anniversary idea as well. I've been to a few weddings where people at the table end up auguring about who will take home the centerpiece. I think it's a little ridiculous to fight over flowers, lol but I've seen it being done. So, in order to avoid that from happening at our wedding I felt it was best to do a giveaway.

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
Well you can have the RH place something in the back of one seat on each table. or under a charger....like a sticker of a wedding bell or something. The DJ can announce for everyone to check their seats/ and thats who gets the CP.

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
At a number of dances I've attended they passed around a dollar until the DJ stopped the music. One time the DJ stopped & people thought they won but then he said the person to their RIGHT had actually won.

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
Our DJ had everyone play the dollar game. One guy at each table took out a dollar and they passed it around, the woman who was left holding the dollar when the music stopped got the CP (if a guy had it he had to give it to the woman to his left).
Then he made the guys dance for the ladies to get their dollars back, it was so funny!!

Thats a good idea. DJ's are usually pretty creative with that kind of stuff

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
Nobody took home the centerpieces. They were simply too large. We had such a huge flower bill that we decided that the flowers shouldnt go to waste. Our florist provided tissue paper and the waitstaff dismantled some of the centerpieces so that each female guest and/or couple could have SOME flowers to take home. It worked out well and everyone liked to have a little something.

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
i went to a wedding once where we played the dollar game but instead of the traditional one where the person with the dollar got the CP, in this game the person who actually donated the dollar to the game took home the CP and the person that ended up with the dollar kept the dollar. i thought that was a fun twist on things cause i ended up with the dollar and i was like oh great i dont want the CP (i was the florist for this wedding ) so i was happily surprised to get the dollar instead!!
mine are borrowed so Im not giving them away. Im using my sisters candles and bud vases from her wedding. I hope no one takes them!!

Re: Centerpiece Giveaway
ok i heard of another one, since the dollar one seems to be pretty popular. there was one that if some one had a penny under their plate they won. but my question is, whos responsible for putting one penny under one plate at each table? the rh?
