CENTERPIECE HELP!!!

CENTERPIECE HELP!!!

After being in contact with my RH, I have found out I can't do the centerpieces I wanted to do (ivory pillar candles of different sizes on a mirrored plate) because we can't have an open flame. FH doesn't like the cylinder vases that we could put them in instead.

Looking for a centerpiece idea that isn't flowers and doesn't have an open flame. It's a very early March wedding. We were thinking of maybe a candy centerpiece, but I'd want to make sure it looks elegant instead of trashy/cheesy.

Ideas....AAAAND GO!!

Can you do luminarie candles instead?

Or those pillars that have the fake flame that looks extremely real?

This is what I would've suggested..

I'm doing candy, so I hope it doesn't look cheesy!

Ideas:
fruit in a bowl
stacks of favors in pretty packaging
a collection of pictures in frames
rented lamps
paper flowers
mini wedding cakes
a bowl full of crystals
tree branches

I did branches on half of my tables with hanging candles and just a few orchids...my guests loved them! I think they are so pretty and you can spice up the branches in many different ways if you don't want flowers!

I've also seen CPs made of huge ostrich feathers that look awesome!

I love all these ideas! Especially the mini wedding cakes!!!

ETA: I've seen this and looooooooved it. They are votives, so it's not an open flame. The pedestal bowls contain water, tealights, and floating flower petals.

And spinning off the previous poster who mentioned the tree branches- here's a way to add tree branches and candy! I love it!

I really like the idea of mini wedding cakes! I wonder how expensive that would be. I guess I could purchase everything and have my neighbor (who will be doing my favors) do it. We're doing an edible favor (chocolate covered pretzels). I was also thinking of white/dark chocolate dipped Oreos? She makes gourmet goodies for a living!

More candy ideas!

I love this piled high with petit fours!

I thought these were kinda cool and reminded me of your original CP idea.

Hmmm, I'd speak to whoever you are getting your actual wedding cake from. If you're going to have mini cakes on the tables, you'll want your actual wedding cake to be smaller.... or maybe have fake tiers if you still want something big. Maybe they can put part of the cost you'd be saving on your actual wedding cake towards your mini-cakes. Just a thought!

ETA: Or the mini cakes could be fake! But I think I'd be disappointed as a guest if I found out they weren't real! lol!

ETAA: I love the look of these individual cakes! They'd be perfect on the tiered stands!
