centerpiece idea.. need honest opinions!
So FH and I got engaged on a vineyard. We are also very into wine tasting and love going out to wine country and just drinking wine in general. My idea is to have each centerpiece be a (full) bottle of wine from the vineyard we got engaged at. I would decorate the bottles with silk flowers. I'm worried that one bottle on each table will be too small and get lost on the table, but if I can get away with just one on each table I'd prefer to do that to save some money. What do you ladies think?? here is an example of what I'm picturing that I found online. Any thoughts?? please be honest!! TIA!

I think it's a good idea! It has you and your FH's history incorporated with him proposing at the vineyard. I'm doing my own centerpieces and trying to save money as well. If I liked wine I would probably do that too. lol

I love the idea! If the tables are big and bottles to small ... A few pillar candles or votives can fill up the space a bit.

I think its a really cute idea, esp with the history behind it. I do think that 1 bottle will get lost on the table though, maybe 2 or 3 bottles per table or like LisaReyes suggested adding pillars or votives beside the bottle.

I think its very cute! I would add something else so that it looks like a centerpiece and not just a bottle of wine on a table.

i love it! maybe something like this to help avoid it from getting lost - it's a little hard to see, but it looks like a couple of bottles clustered together on a small tray:http://ugc.theknot.com/361211-large.jpg

Very cute and original!! Another idea is you can buy those round mirrors from dollar tree and place the wine bottle ontop and add some crystals and pillars or votives around it to give it a fuller look.

Very cute, another idea is to put a few wine glasses around the bottle as well. Maybe get them mongramed and place a votive inside for some light.

I like the wine bottles in the center of the table BUT I agree it might get lost in the table...maybe add candles or flower petals around the bottle?
I'm not super creative I'm sorry!

funny you say that, the extension to my idea that I came up with yesterday is to have wine glass favors but to cluster them around the bottles almost like a 'pull away' centerpiece. i was thinking of putting a monogram of a dandelion on each one... part of our engagement story includes me blowing the white dandelion to make a wish, and then he purposed (longer story but that's the gist of it). Maybe that plus some votives and rose pedals...........

thank you everyone for the input! it's really helpful. I'm thinking it does need something along with it. I'm going to try to experiment this weekend with ideas!

I think the idea fits you guys, but I do think you need more then a bottle and I agree that they should be different levels

yeah i do agree... what if i did 2 different bottles of wine on each table, with the flowers wrapped around them as pictured above, with just votives around the bottles? i'm trying to avoid using pillars or vases, but i will do it if i have to.

Re: centerpiece idea.. need honest opinions!
very cute!I would try and get some different size bottles too (worse comes to worse you and FH spend a few nights drinkning them and save the bottles and just fill them w water!)
