So a few days ago I showed my mom a picture of a centerpiece with grapes and roses on a 4 tiered serving tray. I posted it here too just to get opinions on fruit in centerpieces. Yesterday my mom saw the 4-tiered trays on sale in Macy's for 50% off of $40, an additional 15% off and then I think an additional 10% off. They came to $9 each. So mom called me and asked if I thought I might want to use them. She bought 14 of them. What do you ladies think?
Here is the one I found in Modern Bride which was done by Karen Bussen
I saw your post yesterday and I absolutely love that centerpiece!!!!

Re: Centerpiece opinions needed
I am thinking of roses, grapes, hydrangea and calla lillies...
I guess I am nervous about them because they are different. What does the tiered tray say to everyone? What is the message that it conveys?
I am also considered silver revere bowls or footed urns in the cracked clay/stone look

Re: Centerpiece opinions needed
I think the message that those centerpieces would convey is that they're gorgeous...what other message would there be?

I think it says that you are unique and have a style all your own. If it's done properly, it will look exquisite! No need to be nervous. I think those are beautiful!

Re: Centerpiece opinions needed
I love the look!
What does it say? It's says you're unique and took the time think up something new. just a thought .. put a group of skinny pillar candles on top or a few fat ones or tea lights.
I think its WONDERFUL.
It's so versitile (sp) you can do all sorts of stuff with it.
PS: Great that you're mom got such a great deal on them!! GO MOM

I really love the idea. It says you're unique and untraditional - a Modern Bride who isn't afraid to think outside the box. I think the flower combination will be beautiful and the grapes will add a nice touch. (Fruit in the CPs is a very 'in' thing to do now.)
I say go for it - I can't wait to see the finished product!

Re: Centerpiece opinions needed
The tiered tray is most used in High Tea service....one of the oldest and most elegant rituals... I think it conveys a fabulously bold message, while creating an elegant table top.

I think they look very nice. Why don't you bring one to your florist and see if they can put something together for you so you can see for yourself what they would look like.
