Centerpiece Opinions....would love to hear from NRC brides

I keep going back and forth on centerpieces that are all ivory or centerpieces that are colorful. I have already designed my centerpieces in my mind, they will be high centerpieces with no filler (all flowers) and they will be surrounded by candles. One minute I am set on doing all ivory and the next moment I am incorporating reds and pinks into it. I am using mostly hydrangea and roses.
ANYWAY, my question is who is using lots of color and who is going monochrome? I am particularly interested in what North Ritz brides are doing/have done.

I have seen NRC and i think you can go either way, but go with your gut, first instinct i say

Not a NRC bride, but if I were you, I would go with all ivory centerpieces, only because I've heard that hydrangeas are hard to guarantee that you'll get the color you want. Sometimes the flowers that come in are very blue, sometimes, they're more green. I don't know how true that is, but I heard it from a few friends. At least if you say you want ivory, you're going to get all ivory.

I am a NRC bride and I am using a mix of colors for my centerpieces. The room has alot of ivory and brown so I thought color would look really nice there. I am using a mix of red, pink,orange.

DrJenn, you are using Flower Michele as well right??? OHHH, I can't wait to see pics of your centerpieces! Have you seen your sample yet? Any pics?

I did see the sample, I'm sorry I didn't bring my camera. It was basically 3 dozen roses with some greens and he added what looked like light purple baby's breath because I thought it was too green. It was on a high gold colored stand without any candles or ivory on it , but I could have added them if I wanted to. The rest of the tables will have the same colored roses in a low old bowl with no greens or fillers. He will put rose petals at the bases of both centerpieces. I am getting married in 52 days so I will certainly have pics for you then.
He is a pleasure to work with.

I would agree and say go with some color because the room is browns and ivories--nothing crazy but nice semi-bright colors might brighten it up just not so much that it looks overboard and too much of a contrast, ya know? hope that helps!

edited to say that I am a NRC bride november of 04' and I am doing a fall theme so I wanted to do all autumn colors in the centerpieces--what do you guys think?
