hello! i want to have very simple centerpieces bc my reception is at the aquarium and i want the main attraction to be the beautiful fish surrounding the tables. i don't want large centerpieces to take away from that. soooo, i could make centerpieces with candles, sand, shells, in a glass bowl/vase type thing for $15-25 each OR i can have simple floral/candle cenerpieces made with less work on my part. my question is can i even get low floral w/candle centerpieces made for less than $25 a piece or are centerpieces usually much more? i will be checking out burtons on the 27th for an official answer, but i want to know what to expect! everything else i am getting is costing way more than it should be so i am expecting the same for flowers lol. thanks~ ~Lacey

Re: centerpiece question
i kinda like the fish bowl with a votive candle with sand and shells. or small bouquets on table with rose petals to make it seem like theres more to the table than the bouquets. but i have know idea on prices.

Re: centerpiece question
You should post on the Vendors Helping Brides board. There are a bunch of florists who check on there regularly and could give you a better answer

burtons charges one price (i think $65) REGARDLESS of the type of flowers you have for a low centerpiece! you're better off going to a flowershop and not even mentioning the word wedding. just say you need really small CPs for an event and see what they quote you

Re: centerpiece question
my FSIL was married at the Aquariam last year. They used dishes with a center candle with sand and shells and they looked great.
I actually think small fishbowls with goldfish would be a great centerpiece for that room.

It seems like something that you could do on your own very inexpensively! Check out Floral Fantasyland in Patchogue.
