I actually looked at Carlyle quite a few times, but got married elsewhere b/c the room was too big for my party. It definitely calls for tall centerpieces!

I'm getting married at the Carlyle too! My date is 8/2/02. We are probably going to do tall centerpieces, but we have not met w/ a florist yet. When we went to look at the Carlyle on a Saturday afternoon, the room was set up for a wedding with low centerpieces, and it looked fine. It's all in what you prefer! Go w/ what you like, and don't let anyone dictate what you 'must have'. Good luck!

I'll be getting married there this June...
I am getting married there on a Saturday afternoon - it is definitely a personal preference. I am having roses tied together in a cylinder (low) I think mine will look elegant and somewhat simple. Maybe if I was getting married in the evening I would consider the tall but see like I said it's a personal preference b/c I really don't like the tall - do whatever you want. Good Luck - I'll let you know how mine turns out. I hope I'm not wrong.

The centerpieces you are getting sound exactly like what I want for my 8/4/02 wedding. Who is doing your flowers? Do you mind me asking how much it's costing and what you're getting for the price? Thanks.

I am using the house florist for Carlyle which is Stefans Florist I went to Flowers by Brian and was quoted $2300 - Stefans is doing it for $2100 - But I'm sure my centerpieces are smaller - I thought they both were great companies - I would use either. I am getting about 30 Roses (open wide) tied together by Ribbon and put in a cyleinder vase - 20 of these - bubble vases with floating roses for cocktail hour - 8 in the bridal party - our flowers are very simular to the centerpieces - (French Tied) and few ohter extras - I will let you know how it turns out after June 16th! Good Luck. I was just wondering where did you get the idea? I just had an image of this in my head -

Woo hoo another Carlyle bride! I'm June 2002 :-) The room is so gorgeous that I truly believe you can do whatever you want. Is yours an afternoon or evening affair?

I looked at the Carltun too. I was sold on the room for the ceremony - I want my ceremony to be inside, and I loved the size and feel of the room at the Carlyle, and the fact that it was a separate room, not a room that would be reused for another part of the party! At Carltun they just use a section of the reception room, and then switch it back during cocktail hour.

Carlyle vs. Carltun
We looked at the Carltun too. And although it was our top choice at first, as soon as we walked into the Carlyle we just knew that it was the place. I've been to weddings at the Carltun, and everything is wonderful! But all in all we liked the feel of the Carlyle better. Continued success!

Carlyle Brides...
I've been on this site for some time now and I've rarely seen Carlyle Brides It's so nice to see... I can't wait to tell you all about my wedding there. Have any of you looked into any of there venders? How about Stefans? They don't give you table cards so I'm a little unsure on what to do?? I guess I will order them from the place I got the invites. I must say we all have very good taste!! We made a great choice.... (I hope)!!Welcome New Vendors
