What is everyone doing for centerpieces? Are there any brides that aren't using flowers as their centerpieces? If so, what are you using? I have no idea what I want to do. I just know if I go with flowers it is going to really add up so I am trying to get other ideas. Thanks!

I will be doing flowers with candles. But I love the way candles in vases look on the table. You could also alternate table, some candles, some flowers.

I actually just started buying the pieces to my centerpieces yesterday! I am doing all candles (my florist is setting up for me). I am doing three pillar candles of alternating sizes with some crystals at the bottom and a submerged orchid with a floating candle on top. There will be a couple of votives surrounding it and rode petals sprinkled all over. All said and done my centerpieces should come under $500. You could prolly do even cheaper if you used silk flowers instead of real but I needed my florist to set up for my own sanity and peace of mind. Some tips on getting the candles, if interested. I found quickcandles to be the cheapest until I went on ebay for the hell of it and found it EVEN cheaper on there (quickcandles sells on ebay) bc you don't have to pay shipping & they sell it at the same price you could get it for on their site at 10%.

Yup! Which is why I was so frustrated with all the other florists! B*rtons pretty much laughed at me when I asked what their price was if I bought my own glassware and another florist said they could take $10 off the $65 per centerpiece fee. I was like WHYYYYY??? I am getting all the materials! I would've paid a set up fee but $55/centerpiece was insane. So that's when I went to the florist up the road from me, Shoreham Florist. She said as long as I drop everything off semi set up (clean the vases & put the crystals at the bottom) she will do the rest. East Wind also said that they will assemble it, as long as it is relatively easy. I was nervous tho that they would turn around and suddenly say it's too much. SO now I saved a bunch of money on my centerpieces (honestly how many guests give a crap about centerpieces??) but I still think they will look elegant/romantic and I know she will set them up nicely.

I don't want to do flowers. I was just toying around with getting a tall wine rack (for say 2 bottles) and ordering cases of wine and printing personalized labels to put on them. Slap some candle votives around it, could be a unique and classy centerpiece, not to mention one someone would love to take home!
Wow I really love this idea!

Thats awesome I am also looking to do the same. My FH really wants high center pieces of branches and I know it will be alot so we may try to make them. He ordered some samples online. NRC also said they would help set them up as long as it was easy!

My co-worker did lanterns that they got at Christmas Tree shops, put a candle in them. They looked nice!

Thanks everyone for your ideas! I really just can't wrap my head around spending so much on flowers that will die the next day. I'd rather put that money into our video or photos.
