CenterPieces UNDER 20

Hey everyone I know this sounds impossible, but I can only afford to spend 20 on each centerpiece because we are way over budget. The wedding is in September so we can get away with many different colors, and diffrent ideas. Anyone know? Please help.... Also the reception is at 1:00 so candles really woun't wok well. Thanks

My reception is an afternoon and still using candle centerpieces.....have you booked your hall yet? Some halls (like mine) include the c-pieces, but we opted to not use them.

cosco has 2 dozen roses for $13...
you could put one dozen roses in a vase on each table..

or a glass bowl with floating candles..

Why not scatter rose petals in the center of the table and use votive candles...that would look nice even in the afternoon! Or something like this, believe it or not they are fake and I saw them at Linen & Things on clearance for $8!! Originally $40....I am not sure what your colors are using.......Good luck!

I was thinking the same thing!! You can get the vases fior the roses at Michaels or Ac Moor...even get the bubble bowls at AC Moore for less than $2.00 each.....so cut about a dozen to a lenght where it loks great in bubble bowls, fill with water, and you are all set...it would definitely be less than $20....

OR...depending on what month you are doing this, I know Sams has a bunch of about 10 tulips for about $6.....

Its definitely do-able! Good Luck!

Hrmm our centerpieces are chinese etched glass and iron wrought lanters with four volitives holding candles. So far it's $4.50 for the lantern, $8 for the candle holders. We are thinking of going to michaels and getting cheap volitive holders for lucky bamboo.. still I think we'll keep it under $20.

What's your theme?

ffi the holders don't need to be big.....go to michaels before tuesday, 5/$1, limit 15, so go back, &/or have someone purchase with you (bring a box too to carry them home in, you can't always find one there.)

hehe yep.. gonna see if I can con Jannshari into coming with me tomorrow. She's coming with me to take photos of me in my dress.

We'd need 40.. so I was hoping she'd hold 15 and I'd hold 15 or.. better yet.. order the 40 at the sale price and have them delivered. Did last time. heh

I'm getting married at the eastwind , at the estate. I will have someone to set them up but I really can't ask anyone to make them right before the wedding with fresh flowers. I went to michaels and they didn't have 45 of the same votives that I liked. I was thinking of finding fake flower pedals, but they are not cheap either. I'm almost at the point of putting a candlestick with one long candle and calling it a day .... very frustrated.

Why not some sort of silk flower arrangement?
ETA: What about different seasonal fruits in a bowl? I think that looks pretty.

I went looking for the silk flowers but any decent size was expensive. I found little fake baskets with flowers at the store but they were easter colors. I don't deny we could use fake but when he prices are so high might as well use real. At fantasyland in patchogue on sigle bundle costs 8 dollars and that for a 3 stems and a bunch of flowers it wou't be enough for each table.

I think it's worth a trip to Costco then. Let me take a look on the net and see what I can find for you. I know there has to be more things we're not thinking of............

I know you said no candles but...Michaels has a few different candleholder centerpieces that are really cheap. You can have your friends and family save the coupons out of newsday and get 40% off.

Okay, a few things -

Donald Hegdecock, florist, has given a quote to someone to have 10 tulips in a vase for like $15. His small centerpieces are like $20 each. He's the house florist at Sans Souci. His info is on my budget vendor page:

I also have great inexpensive online sources for DIY flowers.

Also, go to

for TONS of inexpensive DIY ideas.

Good luck!

We're trying to keep our centerpieces fairly cheap as well... I really the one attached, but the bowl alone is $20 from illuminations... I'm probably going to just get a simple floating bowl from Ikea ($4 per bowl! I've attached to the message), buy some grape vines from an arts & craft store, and buy some cheap floating candles to get the same effect... then we're putting little lanterns around the centerpeice, that will also serve as the wedding favor... we bought them online - 100 lanterns for $100...
