Original post by orange758

Hey everyone I know this sounds impossible, but I can only afford to spend 20 on each centerpiece because we are way over budget. The wedding is in September so we can get away with many different colors, and diffrent ideas. Anyone know? Please help.... Also the reception is at 1:00 so candles really woun't wok well. Thanks

The AC Moore by me has a lot (if not all) their silk flowers for 50% off thru Tuesday....their prices are decent to begin with...

Or, there are Mums just coming out usuallyin September....when I worked at Wal MArt garden Center we got themaround the first week of September.....they are the prettiest when tehy first get them because they never seemed to take caer of them....you could buy a decent size one for each table and cover the green pot in a white paper with a bow around it with your color.....

Maybe yopur BM could help do this, or even use fresh flowers they coluld help out...

We're trying to keep our centerpieces fairly cheap as well... I really the one attached, but the bowl alone is $20 from illuminations... I'm probably going to just get a simple floating bowl from Ikea ($4 per bowl! I've attached to the message), buy some grape vines from an arts & craft store, and buy some cheap floating candles to get the same effect... then we're putting little lanterns around the centerpeice, that will also serve as the wedding favor... we bought them online - 100 lanterns for $100...

these little lanterns are adorable!

I know you are not thrilled with the idea of candles..but these candle rings are cute...$6.95 for 2 from home Interiors and maybe you can get 5 votives (from Michaels sale) to put around this....

Alright girls, I found wonderful bowls today at linens and things they were 50% off and came to 9.99 each, they are square, with the middle circle for floating candles. And underneath there is also a hollowed circle so I can put flowers or pedals. I spent $173, now I need cheap floating candles, any suggestions???

P.S. thanks to everyone for your advice and ideas and pictures :o)

Sometimes the hall will offer you centerpieces for the tables at a discounted price. You may want to ask your hall if they offer anything like that.

I'm getting married at the Eastwind and they don't give anything for the centerpices for the reception , they woun't even let me change the gross green linens under the top tablecloth. They said for the cocktail hour that little centepices go on the tables, but only for that room.

Why not try either Ornmental cabbage that normally comes out that time of year. Either that or maybe do something with apples since Sept starts apple season.

For whomever is interested in the little lanterns... I got them online at http://www.ecandlewarehouse.com/WMetalStands.html

The website says you have to make a minimum purchase of $325, but we only purchased $100, and paypal accepted our order, so I think it's ok...

Rose petals (price florists for those) and votive candles (I think candles at 1pm is OK)
in clear glass votive holders.

or

I bought candle holders from this company that sells glass candle holders and vases wholesale (it's on NSGraham's discount vendor website which you can search the address for on here. The place is called JS Marketing I think..and there's a link on that website). You can buy tall vases, then go to a wholesale florist and get calla lillies and put them in there yourself. Fill the bottom of the vase with glass stones that you can purchase at Michaels.

This might sound crazy, but I know someone who got their flowers from Stop&Shop, and she said that nobody could tell the difference, LOL! I don't know what they costed exactly, but it's worth looking into for some decent flowers/centerpieces.

hey girls for those of you that have ordered anything from :

http://www.ecandlewarehouse.com/WFloating.html

Did they give you trouble with a small order? because it said minimum is 325. And i don't think ordering that many floating candles is nesseray besides, my total centerpiece budget is 300. So far I have spent 173 on 16 bowls for the candles.

Is there a way to cantact these e-candle people by phone? or do you need to do it over the internet.

Re: CenterPieces UNDER 20

I don't think there's any phone number... we sent them an email to ask a question, on Saturday, but no response yet. We did purchase the lanterns, and it only came to $100, even though the site says $325 minimum... paypal accepted the payment and we haven't heard anything yet... I'll let you know if they arrive!

I'm getting married at the eastwind , at the estate. I will have someone to set them up but I really can't ask anyone to make them right before the wedding with fresh flowers. I went to michaels and they didn't have 45 of the same votives that I liked. I was thinking of finding fake flower pedals, but they are not cheap either. I'm almost at the point of putting a candlestick with one long candle and calling it a day .... very frustrated.

You could have asked for a raincheck.
I found another candle holder there i loved.. they only had like 10 and I needed 40 so I had them order them for me.. they raincheck the price at the sales price. This sale goes on until Today. Good Luck
