I was thinking about doing a full low CP with rose petals sprinkled on the tabe and candles..i think it may be more intimate than the big high CP's. Do you think a low CP will look as pretty or will the guest hink i cheaped out on flowers even though it is more $$ than the high?

Re: Centerpieces..low or high?
I think it sounds really pretty. Sometimes, if the room is too small, the tall centerpieces can be overwhelming.
I don't like the high--I think it is too difficult to see and talk to other people at the table. I am going for low ones so that everyone will be able to see over them.

The room itself is so much that i think tall CP's will be too much..i went to the florist and they showed me the low one and they said it is classy and elegant, but of course they are going to say that to sell me on the idea.

I am having the low centerpieces also. I thought it would be better since I am having a small wedding.

Re: Centerpieces..low or high?
I'm having exactly what you're describing and I've already seen it done for a wedding at my place. Personally, I think that it looks more elegant to have lower centerpieces with flower petals scattered than the tall ones but I'm of the less is more mindset. I don't think your guests will think you've cheaped out on the flowers at all though. Add some votives if you're worried it'll look like too little.

I'm doing the low centerpieces. I was just at a wedding with a tall centerpiece and couldn't see the people across from me....

They told me they can add on each side a cube with a big floating rose in each also ..i think that will add the something extra i am looking for..i hope.

Re: Centerpieces..low or high?
I did half tall and half low--same amount of roses in each. The ballroom was HUGE--and I did not want everyhting looking so uniform--I think the effect was beautiful. I will post a picture of it as soon as the link works--
BTW--the tall centerpieces were high enough that you could see directly across the tables.

Re: Centerpieces..low or high?
We just booked our florist last week and went with the low centerpieces. Our's will be low but really full and large. I said the same thing to the florist ' i don't want my guests to have to look around the centerpiece to talk across the table' He replied which made sense, that music will be on, and people hardly ever talk across the table, they move to talk or talk to the people next to them. I thought to myself..ya know he's right, i never talk to across the table at a wedding, i get up and move and mingle...
Just thought i'd share...

Re: Centerpieces..low or high?
It definitely all depends on the room! Low centerpieces completely disappear in large spaces, wihle high centerpieces can make a small room look cramped.

Re: Centerpieces..low or high?
Your idea sounds exactly like my centerpiece! I personally love the low ones. I'm not an extravagant person and love how simple and elegant low centerpieces are.
