ceremony and entrance dilemma, what are you doing?

Ok, i didnt even think about this until the other day when FH mentioned something. Ok problem is i dont know who my mom is going to walk down the aisle with since my dad is walking me. Ive seen the brother or cousin walking the mother down but i dont have a brother or close male cousin. FH said he'll have one of his GM walk her down since he has 11 guys and i have 9 girls but i dont know about that. My dad said maybe my uncle, his brother.

Then my parents were asking me about the entrances at the reception. He asked if my grandmother makes and entrance and i said yes. Heres the problem, at our wedding we will only have 1 grandmother each there. My dad said the 2 grandmothers can walk in together but i am really not sure if fh's grandmother will be able to, she is 93 and looks great and everything but does have trouble walking so not sure if she'll be up to doing that. My dad said my grandmother to walk alone but i dont think thats a good idea at all, she doesnt even speak english and will probably get confused. I said maybe she can walk in with my parents and all 3 can be announced. Or should I have my uncle walk in with her?

anybody else having this type of problem? and what are others doing?

i think your mom walking in with a groomsman would be a good idea, if she's open to that. maybe ask her what she'd like to do?

we are not having grandparents do the entrance thing because 2 grandfathers are not in the greatest health. just parents and bridal party with us

I've seen either one or two ushers escort the MOB down the aisle. As for Grams...I think she should walk in with your uncle. Your parents should have their own separate entrance.

i think she is fine with it, she joked yesterday to just make sure its a handsome one lol. I just dont know if ive ever seen it done this way, but shouldnt matter right? im so confused lol and trying to think of wedding ive been to and maybe other scenarios ive seen. I brought this up to her yesterday and she said she doesn't care. I had asked both my parents to walk me down the aisle but my mom said its my dads moment and she doesnt want to take that away from him.

I should've done the same with the grandparents situation, but when i mentioned it yesterday my dad seemed to really like that idea, my grandmother wont care either way

my mom is walking in with my neice and nephew (RB AND FG) since my dad will be with me. I think your mom can walk in with her brother ( if she has one) or any male for that matter they will escort her

also no grandparents doing the entrance bc they are both very old and fragile and I wnat to keep them safe

oh ok so it is done like that sometimes, ok i think i just might do this then. It will also solve the problem that we have an uneven bridal party so helps a little bit

Yeah true, my parents should have their own separate entrance good point. I think my uncle might be a good person to walk in with my grandmother, im sure others have done something similar and if not who cares

she has no brother, my dad has a brother. And we dont have another close male family member. Most of my family is overseas so thats why we dont have alot of choices lol

i wish i had another male family member who can walk my mom down the aisle. I would have her dad do it but i dont think he will be able to come. He has health problems and dont think his doctor will let him fly.

A jewish ceremony is different -- the bride is walked down by both of her parents so that is what we are doing. the grandparents also walk down the aisle.

we have 3 sets of grandparents who will walk down as pairs, and one grandmother who is a widow. we plan to ask her if she prefers walking down herself, or with a groomsman. (if she really wants to walk with my uncle, her stepson, we'd consider that but I don't think he plans to wear a tux). we'd probably have the groomsman double back around though because we are uneven with 1 more bridesmaid. (leaning toward MOH walking alone and the rest in pairs)

As for the entrance, I we didn't give any thought to that yet. I don't know if the grandparents will do the entrance. it's one thing for them to walk slowly down the [short] aisle and then sit down.... I see the entrance as more of a high energy thing.

i wanted to do both parents walking me down the aisle too, too bad my mom doesnt want to take away from my dads moment or else this would be so easy.

Oh wait do grandparents walk down the aisle at the ceremony? then my uncle would have to walk my grandmother so he wouldnt be able to walk my mom.

the grandparents would be first so its ok...but if we do just my grandmother walking in for the entrance it would be fine, the lady walks more than i do lol. She takes walks just for fun almost everyday and its at least 20 blocks. Sometimes she will tell me where she went that day and ill sit there and think OMG you walked that far, and she walks extremely fast too. THis is a woman who is always moving around doing things so its not a problem, knowing her she'll walk in quicker than others lol
