ceremony at reception site

ceremony at reception site

Hi I have only been engaged for a week but we have begun to look at places. SInce we will be getting married at the reception site my one question is does that become a part of the 5 hr. package. You figure if the ceremony is 45 minutes, and coctails for an hour, that only leaves 3 hrs for dancing and eating. How do most places work this out? Elisa

Don't know if anyone remembers the problem I had with the veil I ordered from the Tri-County flea market but it came out beautiful. I went that Saturday and the man had found my headpiece and I picked it up this past Sunday and it is just beautiful. So even though the man that was there seem like he didn't know much he did go out of his way to find the right headpiece which he should of but he was extremely pleasant and the veil is great. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Just a thought....

I believe that in most places, if you are having the ceremony on site, it becomes 6 hours. My invitation is for 4, ceremony at 430, cocktail hour at 5 and reception from 6 to 10...

Just a thought....

Thanks Phyl, if I remember correctly you got married by a rabbi and a priest. Did you have a difficult time locating them? Did they work well together? I am a little nervous about the whole thing.

Sounds good PHyl ! don't tie up the phone lines ! LOL ! You should be getting a call from Joy ( i wont post her last name for privacy reasons) for a phone interview!

Good luck !

We may be considering a ceramony on site as well...my question is what if you are the morning wedding and then there is an evening...For instance at Eastwind if we did an 11:30-5:30. Dont the other folks have to get into the bridal suite early. and dont they have to start setting up the reception area for their wedding...it seems as if the time is cut very close.

I am getting married in February 2001 on a Friday evening, and I am paying half of the price you quoted. I am having a full cocktail hour, mid priced dinner menu, open bar, centerpieces included and viennese tables. I am not familiar with the Inwood Country Club though, but IMO February is a supposedly an "off" month, so they should be able to do alot better on the price
