So first of all, what is everyone doing? Tulle, just bows, flowers or nothing at all?
Second, if you are doing just pew bows or maybe tulle from one pew to another type of thing, who sets that up for you and when...my bms will be coming with me and only arriving about 15 minutes before everything starts (guests will already be there and I dont want it being set up then or the bms going out there then either). If you are doing flowers, where are you doing them and how many?
Im asking because I would like to keep costs down for this since its only a half hour but on the other hand it is the most important part of the day and I want everything to look nice. Im having it out a nice church (well its really a chapel but whatever) but I know flowers really run into a lot and I dont know how I could just get one thing of flowers cuz where would that go (usually ya know 2, one for each side...)

Re: Ceremony Decor
I think this is what I'm going to do but with just branches. I really like the idea and think it frames the aisle well. I haven't fully priced it out yet with the florist because I found the pic after I booked but it's something I will obvi bring up eventually.
they are decorating the pews with tulle & flowers.... and they are also doing two big altar pieces that will then be taken to the RH afterward and placed behind our sweetheart table
Pedestals is taking care of all of the setting up & decorating

Re: Ceremony Decor
I have 14 pew bows that the florist sets up. Also, since its the holidays, the church will already be decorated so I didn't go overboard.

Re: Ceremony Decor
I have 10 pew bows set with Burton's in my contract. I was thinking of adding more However, I REALLY wanted to do some elaborate flower arrangements and stuff for the pews. (If anyone has seen The Wedding Planner...one of the opening scenes in the church has like trees/branches and tons of flowers, etc...I wanted that! ) My church is strict on flowers though.

Re: Ceremony Decor
I am not getting flowers from the church. This might sound cheap but we are there for an HOUR tops, and I doubt anyone is going to notice I didn't have pieces on the alter. I hope they will be looking at me and FH not the flowers.
I plan on doing my own tulle and/or pew bows the night before just before the rehersal. My church said we could come earlier before it to set up and it will obviously be there the next day.
If I have anyother problem's my Aunt's offered to go there the day of (they live 5 minutes from the church) and fix it.

Re: Ceremony Decor
I am DIYing pew bows, but thats it. I can't really see spending the $$$ on extra decor, especially since we're in a church for a half an hour.

Re: Ceremony Decor
Im not going crazy either with decorations. Most of these churches have so much detail/character on their own that you dont really need to go too crazy decorating.

Re: Ceremony Decor
My plan (as of right now) is to have some type of floral arrangements on the pews and the alter. These pieces will leave the church after the ceremony & will be incorporated in the reception decorations.

Re: Ceremony Decor
I will probably have some arrangement or two at the altar, and then bows on the first few rows of pews. My church does not allow tulling from pew to pew because it blocks off the entrances to the pews.
I need to speak with my friend, I mean florist, hehe.

Re: Ceremony Decor
I am doing tulle bows that I may attempt to do myself.
My church is very quaint and old world, so it is already beautiful in itself. Have not decided on flowers yet. May just do two vases of like orangy-peach roses for the altar. I was at mass one Sunday and saw that on the altar and liked the way it looked. The altar is marble and very ornate, so I think a vase of flowers on each side will be plenty.
I do agree that I do not want to spend alot of money because we are only there an hour tops.

we are getting married at the RH but instead of an archway we are just having a 2 large vases (like 4 ft) with cherry blossom branches like this so it sorta forms somewhat of an arch!!
