I was planning on having the ceremony at the RH, but FH doesn't want to see me before the cermony and we will not have enoght time during the cocktail hour for pictures. Now I am looking for a location so I can have an earlier ceremony, but many places can only hold 100 ppl and we are inviting 225 ppl to the wedding. Is it wrong if I only invite family and our closest friends to the ceremony? The ceremony would be a Friday afternoon and many people probably couldn't make it because of work.

Re: Ceremony Dilema
i dont think that's a problem at all... esp for a friday wedding.
i would say, just invite your family to the wedding for an more intimate setting and then celebrate it with everyone that evening.

Re: Ceremony Dilema
We are having our ceremony at the hall and FH isn't seeing me before either.
We saw several photographers and they assured us that they would be able to get all the pics that we want in the amount of time, PLUS be able to enjoy part of our cocktail hour.
They said they would take the other pics without FH beforehand, and the group shots during the cocktail hour. They would only need 30 minutes to do all that.
3 different photographers told us the same thing so I think it's pretty standard.
Good luck!

I thought it would be enough time, but my sister's pics last friday took about four hours. Plus we have a big BP of 20 people plus us, parents, and two floer girls. Its a lot of people which makes things move slower.

Hey i think its so sweet that your FH does not want to see you before the wedding
I think its perfectly fine to invite only your closest freinds and family to the ceremony. It would create a much more private setting regarding the personal union of you and FH as husband and wife. The reception is the celebration extended to all - I think most people would understand and wouldn't even question this choice as it is a personal preferance and regards intimacy level.

ours too!! At first i didnt want to see him b4 either but for religious reasons we do have to see each other before hand anyway so in the end it didnt matter
If he really does not want to see you before hand take pics with your BM and family earlier, and the same for him, and then it should only take about 30 min to take the rest after the ceremony...

Re: Ceremony Dilema
are you looking to have the ceremony in a church? if so, most people don't go to the church ceremony - only to the RH. and if it is a friday - most people will not get out of work early enough to attend.

I want it outside. I'm looking into the planting fields. I figured many ppl couldn't make so it wouldn't be a problem. I think I am just going to send out the invites and have geust RSVP to the ceremony. I might send out invites to 100 guest and ask them to RSVP two months before the wedding. I'm not sure yet, I still have to think it over.

I agree. I am having a ceremony at a church, and then a few hours to take pictures, and then RH. I know that only a handful of people will come to the church, especially since there is a big lapse in time.
