What do people think of having a ceremony at a church in Queens and having the reception in long island. Total driving time is about 25-30 min between each but i can't calculate the time with traffic exp on the Northern State on a Friday evening. I would prefer to have the ceremony in a church but I dk what people would think about the drive. Any opinions?

Re: Ceremony in separate location
It depends how much time you give between the church and recception. If you give them enough time it should be okay. We went to a wedding last summer and the reception was 30 minutes away from the church, it wasn't a big deal.

Re: Ceremony in separate location
Most of the weddings I've been to have the ceremony in a Church and the reception at a hall, so it doesn't even phase me. I feel like most people expect that there will be commuting/time in between ceremony and reception for you to take pictures.

I don't think those who really care about you will mind. Make sure you give them time in between and they are greeted with champagne and food at the RH!!

I think it is fine! Those important to you will be there no matter what, and if it is too far for others they can just attend the reception. Our ceremony was in Brooklyn and reception in Long Island. Just make sure you leave enough time btwn. the ceremony and reception for travel.

My church is in Bay Shore and the reception is in Floral Park...about a 30 minute drive but they'll just have to do it. I am not going to change our church to be closer...I think people are ok with it especially if it's your church...you cant change parishes. LOL

Our church is in seaford and our reception is in Howard Beach Queens, about 30 min from one another but It gives us time to take our pictures and our reception hall is also having a hospitality hour.
