Ceremony Music

Hey Girls....

I'm in the process of choosing my wedding ceremony music since I'm having a full mass. Does anyone have any recommendations of what's to be played? I know I like Canon in D for the Bridal Entrance....but does that include the bridal party walking into that song too or do they walk into something else? like Ave Maria or something?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Thanks.

You should have the party walk down the aisle to something different. Hmm. . .this is MY area of expertise, yet I'm so tired right now, I can't even think straight. . .will bookmark this for tomorrow.

I'm in the process of doing all the readings and music for my wedding too. I'm doing the mass too.

I was going to have the bridal party walk into CAnnon in D and I think I am going to walk into Here Comes the Bride. I know I want the Ava MAria played but I'm not sure when its supposed to be sung. Also I have no idea what other songs will be song. I'm so bad at this right now

Here is the music I chose

Preludes -
Wedding Song (There is Love) Stookey
Wherever You Go Priory
Till There Was You Meredith Wilson

Processional
Canon in D-Pachbel

Brides Procession
Bridal March-Wagner

I cannot remember for the life of me what I chose for the other parts of the mass.

I'm not sure if i can go 'outside the box' and pick something non-liturgical. My brain is fried and I can't think straight

You should definitely go 'non-liturgical' for the prelude, processional, and recessional music. Save the religious psalms and chorales for the actual ceremony. Most people choose non-secular instrumental music for coming in and walking out.

FH and I are using the Air movement from Handel's Water Music for everybody to walk into, then I'm walking in with the Hornpipe movement from the same piece of music.

Yes I agree with going non-liturgical for the prelude processional and recessional.

Did you speak to your priest, organist, or wedding singer? Thats where I got my suggestions from.
