please answer the poll and let me know why you are doing what you are doing-of there is a reason. I want to do the full mass but I don't want to bore people. Plus I think the mass is too short for those that have far to travel-then they can go right to the reception hall to take pics with us-the family.

Re: ceremony or full mass?
Everyone has their own traditions and beliefs so it really depends on what you want to do. That being said....FH is jewish and he was VERY uncomfortable at the 2 catholic weddings that we went to that had full masses.

Re: ceremony or full mass?
We are having a full mass. We both our Catholic and have been raised to be religious - we never considered not having a full mass. Our Wedding is about being married before our friends and families, but most importantly God.

Not to cause any flames but here is my one thing when it comes to this. You are getting married for u and FH. If your guests know you are getting married at a catholic church and possibly will not feel comfortable during mass, skip it and go to the reception. The nuptials is the MOST important part of the day.

We are having a ceremony because that is what WE want. We are both not very religious and want just the nuptials.

Re: ceremony or full mass?
FULL MASS!!! FH and I both practicing Catholics who couldn't imagine our wedding day without a Mass. Most every other important day in my life has had a Mass as a part of it, so my wedding day will be no exception. We are being married in front of our family, friends, and most importantly in the eyes of God and the Church.
Our Mass will probably be close to an hour and fifteen. I am having a lot of music, FH's friend is the priest who will marry us, which will probably = a longer, more personable homily and I would say 90% of our guests will be receiving Communion. Most Masses can be done in about 45 minutes.

Re: ceremony or full mass?
There is no way my FI & I could get married without a full out mass. We are both very strong in our faith and are happy to be able to share that with others. I feel that the sacrament of marriage itself is more important than the reception, so we are going all out for the nuptial mass. Who cares if it bores people? It's very important to us

ya, i agree with this. you gotta do what you want, full or shortened.
My plan is to tell people (via word of mouth) that it's gonna be LONGGGG, that way they can skip right to the party

Re: ceremony or full mass?
We're doing the wedding ceremony. It is still about 45 minutes. The only thing missing is communion. Everything else is still in the ceremony.

Ceremony
FH and I are not really church going people, but my mom is, so we compromised with her. We would get married in the church as long as we didn't have a full mass.

Re: ceremony or full mass?
Well... Originally we were going to do the whole mass. But since we are interfaith I think we have decided to just do the ceremony, also it will leave more time for us to take pictures b/4 cocktail hour.
