Ceremony programs
Are ceremony programs really necessary? If so, how much is appropriate to spend on them? I can't see spending another $200 on something that will barely be looked at.
Is it worth to print your own? I don't want them to look cheap either.
Help!

Nope. I printed programs for $40 (the cost of the cardstock). Do you have access to a good high speed printer? I used a printer from work and designed them myself. I also am not very creative but it was pretty easy to do.

Re: Ceremony programs
I agree...not worth the money. I made a simple one myself (based off a free template online) and it's just going to cost whatever it costs to photocopy on cardstock at Staples. Also, there are so many downloads available on Etsy...from $20-25 and up. You can buy that and customize however you like and then print.
Honestly, I don't think they're a requirement. If you have the time, then go for it. But if you have to focus your time on other things, I don't think people are going to wonder where your programs are.

I totally agree with these ladies. I'm planning to create my own. It can't be that hard and they even sell the kits at Michaels which you can get really cheap if you have a 40% off coupon then print them at home.

FH and I have decided not to do a ceremony from the program. We both found it unnecessary and agreed we never keep it from a wedding and rarely have I ever even looked at it. We will opt to save some trees LOL

I will DIY for my HIndu ceremony so people could know what is going on. I mostly likely will be buying nice paper and printing it on my own

My bridal party is two people. Not doing a ceremony program. They want to know who the people are, they will get introductions during the reception lol.

We are doing a program but same as above, I amMaking it. I have a friend who got married last year and she designed her own so she is forwarding me her template. I dont want to spent a lot but I think it gives a more personalized touch, especially since we have a large bridal party.

I am most likely going to get an old window or mirror and write the program on that. Ill post it outside the ceremony spot so people can see it when they walk in. I agree its crazy just to print and people arent going to read it/want to carry it around, will probably end up going in the garbage

We're going to make our own as fans (like cardstock on a stick) because we have a large enough bridal party and we're getting married outside in July, so I figured people would appreciate that fans.

We bought a kit from Michaels for $20. It came with 100 programs and the template. Took me about two hours to print 75 programs front and back.
