Ceremony Question?

Ceremony Question?

Went to a friends wedding this past summer and instead of having the priest stand facing the guests and the B&G facing the priest they flipped it. They had the priest with his back to the guests and the B&G facing the guests.
I liked it cause you could see them better (my friends Hubby was crying )
FH doesnt like the idea.
What do you think?

I've seen that before! Not in person, just on TLC's A Wedding Story, but I really liked it!

Re: Ceremony Question?

It's interesting, but I don't like it for one basic reason. The officiant is the person conducting the ceremony and thus is the person who is speaking for almost the entirety of the ceremony. This person should be facing the audience (i.e. guests), even if their voice is amplified. The bride and groom only have a few things to say, and those things are to be said to each other - it's not as relevant how well they are heard or seen by the guests.

What about sideways? So the guests see the profiles of each? I wonder if that is doable?

I've never seen that before but it sounds like such a great idea. My FH is a traditional guy too and probably won't go for it. But it makes more sense...right?

good idea good for pics also...we're standing sideways on an angle...we're in a gazebo so everyone will be able to see us clearly
