Did you guys ever hear of the Mother of the Groom walking her son down the isle? and how about having the parents stand at the alter while our ceremony is being performed?
I can see FH being walked down the isle, but I'm not so sure about the alter thing. My mom doesn't want to stand at the alter, but FMIL insists, so my mom is going to so she doesn't seem left out. Any suggestions??

Nope never heard of either of those.
Every wedding I've been to, the groom is waiting at the alter for the bride and the parents are in the first row and seated.

I know for my SIL wedding the M&FOG walked down with the groom and then all the parents stood up at the alter with them. I believe it was Jewish tradition.

I believe you're right. FMIL is Jewish and this is all she knows of. I on the other hand, am Catholic and we never heard of such a thing.

I've never heard of the parents standing at the alter, usually they're in the front row. We're getting married outside and since he's got to get down to the alter somehow he's gonna walk in the procession with his daughter (jrBM), he'll be there waiting for me by the time I'm making my way down.

I just saw a diagram of where people stand at the altar and one of them had the parenst up there. I'm geussing it may be an old tradition.

my groom will walk down with his brothers, who are his Best Men. BUt we are also getting married at the hall, so it's a little different then a church wedding where the Groom is waiting up front already.
I've never heard of the groom going with his parents, but I do think it's a lovely sentiment.

yea i havent heard of that either. My mom asked that FH walk her down the aisle to her seat , but then he'll continue to the altar
