I didn't think about this after, and it's too late to change it. But did you all put the exact time of when your ceremony starts on your invite or did you put earlier so people get there on time? My ceremony is at 1 so that's what I put on the invite
I was stressing since this is what my friend did, but my mom was like don't stress it's not a back yard BBQ it's a wedding, and then it looks like if you start late if they are sitting there for a half hour.
Should I be worried?

I put the actual start time, I hadn't even thought to put earlier- if they can't make it on time its their problem!

I just logged onto the forum to ask the same question! I'm thinking these things usually start 10 minutes late. So I agree with the last poster ...if they don't get there on time ...tuff.

Re: Ceremony start time on invite
I would either put 'to commence promptly at __' or 15 minutes early.

My invites are already out..so too late for wording...lol. But just curious as to what other people do in regards to this.

Re: Ceremony start time on invite
My invitations are 30 minutes earlier than the real ceremony time. Part of the concern for us was that people know that a lot of couples do the 30 minutes early thing. We worried that if we didn't set it 30 minutes ahead, people would still think we did and REALLY arrive late.

I put 30 minutes earlier. My guests even said don't put the real time because they will probably be running late.

Its a shame people can't arrive on time places. Black and Spanish and on time places. N my friends know how I am. So hopefully people get there on time. Otherwise they will miss it. Not gunna have people walking in late n disturbing the ceremony.

I didn't think about this either. I think I am still going to put the exact time because I don't want people to have to wait around.

WM offers a hospitality hour (it's included when you book with them). Any guests who arrive early will have food and drink while they wait.

Re: Ceremony start time on invite
I went to a ceremony today where the bride put 2:15pm on the invite because the grooms family is always late, but in actuality, the ceremony started at 2:30pm. I knew this in advance, but apparently others didn't know about the time diferrence and I heard some grumblings around me about how late the bridal party was.
being a teacher, I'm always on time so I guess I just expect others to be as well. i put the exact time on my invite and if they're late, it sucks to be them and I might give them detention
Seriously though, I 've never been to a wedding, before today, that had the 'wrong' time for the ceremony start time....I'd say you're fine Jess!

Re: Ceremony start time on invite
I put a half hour earlier - because my RH is an hour from where most people live. I wanted to give some cushion time... however, once 1130 strikes people are walking down that aisle.

Re: Ceremony start time on invite
I put a half hour early. My ceremony starts at 7:30pm, I put down to arrive at 7. I have a violinist who will play at the ceremony from 7pm-8pm so I figured might as well have people enjoy the music.
