Ceremony Start Time vs Arrival Time on Invitation - Help!

Original post by jandm

Help!!

Very confused on what to put on the invitation. Our ceremony start time is 6:30 p.m. (reception at the same place).

Do we put a 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. start on the invitation???

Our hall vendor did not include a staff member to greet the arriving guests and give them even a glass of water if guests arrive there a little early!!

Should I go back to them and request this???

I'm not sure what to do.

our ceremony start time is 11:15 a.m. and we put 11 a.m. i think 15 min. is just enough time.

the thing is--if you put 6:00 pm. and things start running late, (which can happen) some guests who made sure to arrive early, may be sitting around for 30-45 min. and that would stink. i think the time should be a 15 min. difference at max.

HTH

i completely agree

Our church starts at 3:15, I just felt that was too akward to have on teh invitation and but 3 instead, its only a 15 min difference

We are putting our actual start time. I'm not really in favor of the early time thing, no one in my family has ever done that. I'd be ticked if I rushed writing my card and messed up the check and ran a red light and put a run in my stockings and forgot to put on deoderant and found out I had an extra 15-30 minutes!

The course of nature will make things run late that day, always do, therefore your guests will be early!

I considered putting 1/2 hour earlier, but in the end put the actual start time. Anyone that is late will be very late because they will be stuck behind me as I make my way from my house to the ceremony in a horse and carriage.
