I am getting married in September and on the beach. I wasn't sure what time to start the ceremony?! Anyone have ideas or thoughts. I was going to do 6 p.m. but by the time the ceremony ends, the sun sets close to 7 and cocktail our will be outside so I feel like it will get cold! Should I do 5 or 5:30?? I am also getting married on a Friday sooo I feel like 5 might be too early, maybe 5:30 would be better...then 6:00 - 7:00 cocktail hour just in time for the sun to set?? Please help :)

Re: Ceremony Time?!?!
I think 5:30 would be a good time. Definitely check the time of the sunset on your wedding date, though - this is a big factor! I went through this myself as I was going to have a Fri night September wedding and was concerned about photos. Click here to check the time of the sunset on your wedding date.

Re: Ceremony Time?!?!
I like your idea of having the ceremony at 530 and the CH from 6-7, so it ends as the sun is setting. Are you taking pics beforehand? I agree also that it's a good idea to check the exact time of sunset that day just to be sure.

Re: Ceremony Time?!?!
Yeah the sun is supposed to set around 6:57 so it would be perfect to finish at that time. But then I was worried that the wedding would be ending early but I think 11:00 isn't so early!

I think 5:30 sounds good. CH6-7 reception 7-11. Sounds like great timing!

Re: Ceremony Time?!?!
Thank you ladies!! I think I've now decided. 5:30 Ceremony, 6-7 CH! Has anyone been to a September wedding outside, do I need to worry about getting heat lamps for the CH?

Re: Ceremony Time?!?!
I think 5:30 would be fine...we were wondering this too...we are getting married Oct. 31st and I don't know when the sun starts to set that time of year...so we are going to pay attention this year so we know when to start the ceremony since we are getting married outside too. Keep your eye on the sky this year...but I think 5:30 should be fine.

If you type in sunset times on a search engine you should be able to find a website where you can enter the date and year and it will give you the exact time of sunset!
