My ceremony starts at 2pm and I put 2pm on my invite. Was I supposed to put an earlier time on my invite?

I think people know better that they have to be there promptly.

Re: ceremony time & invites question?
I put 3:30 and I plan on having the ceremony start at 3:45. I only did this because I am chronically late to everything. It just made me feel better. But I have been to plenty of weddings where it was not done and it worked out fine. I would not worry about it at all. People know they have to be on time.

Re: ceremony time & invites question?
I did because:
1. I know my people they will be late 2. Ceremony is at reception site and cocktail hour is immediately following
I really won't be that bummed if people do not show up to the ceremony on time but I would like for them to make it to the cocktail hour which I am paying for.

Re: ceremony time & invites question?
I put an earlier church time, but the actual start time for the cocktail hour. I don't want my guests to be early to that b/c they won't get served!

Mine starts at 11, I put 10:45 b/c in order to make my cocktail hour I need the ceremony to start promptly so I can leave with the BP, get pics taken, and get to the cocktail hour.

Re: ceremony time & invites question?
My ceremony starts at 11 am. I put it for 10 am. Both of our families tend to be late for functions. They will just have to wait for me on my day. Marie

Re: ceremony time & invites question?
Our ceremony will start at 7:30...but the invites will ask them to arrive at 7...where they will be greeted with champagne & fruit. I would think a half hour is plenty of leeway for stragglers!

I put 6:30 on the invite and that's the time the ceremony atually starts. I was worried at first, but I'm going to spread the word for pwoplw to be prompt.
