I'm posting in both places....i really need opnions..sorry its long: So I have to make a decision real quick! My original time ti have my ceremony is 8pm. This means cocktail hour will be 8:30-9:30.....dinner served at 10:30 reciption over at 1:30. Originally we said ok because our date is a tuesday, the day before july 4th and we wanted purple who work to have time to make everything. Now I'm worried diner will be served too late...do you think its too late? Has anyone ben to a late wedding like this? Although its tuesday...its really like a friday night wedding. My only other option is to have the CH at 7...but we would have to get married somewhere else. And imight be hard for people to get thee for the CH if they had to work that day. Help........
My FH thinks we should leave it....

Re: ceremony too late?
hm well. if people are off the next day it shouldn't matter...but not everyone is off july fourth...and 1:30 could be late for them.
I personally have never been to a wedding that started at 8, but if i didn't have to work the next day it wouldn't bother me one bit!
hope you get things figured out!!!

Re: ceremony too late?
Do you remember if many people left early? I am really thinking of switching the Ch to 7. But with people working I'm scared they won't have enough time too get ready from work. There has been some friday night weddings that started CH at 7, it didn't seem too bad.

I dont think its too late.. my ceremony will be like 715-730 with CH starting at 8.
Im sure if you send out save the dates early most people will take off the next day anyway!

Re: ceremony too late?
I would do whatever you are comfortable with. But to answer your question, most people stayed till pretty much the end. The only thing was that they were all Jewish weddings which run longer typically since they happen after sundown. so everyone knows they are having a late night. I have only been to one Friday wedding, after work, and it started at around 7 and we had to leave work early to get there, but no one seemed to mind that either. It's whatever you think will work for you and your guests.

Whew You girls are starting to make me feel better. You know when you start to ask people questions that are not getting married, or got married years ago...its the WORST thing ever! Too many thoughts....
