I just wanted to see how many brides are actually tying the knot in the reception hall instead of a church.
How many people were/are in your bridal party?
Should my dress be less dramatic because I'm not getting married in a church?
I'm worried about it looking stupid if I have 5 bridesmaids/groomsmen each 2 ringbearers a flower girl and a long train on my dress ....I don't want to look squished into an area...you know??
....I don't know...this is probably just a hang up that I have to get over. Just wanted to see if I was the only one.....
It would be great if i could actually find indoor ceremony pix at the Fox Hollow....but I can't find any :( .... there's one on the website but I NEED MORE!!!!!

Re: ceremony troubles
I'm getting married at my hall. I think a lot of couples are doing that because there are a lot of interfaith couples. I have 6 BM's, 1 MOH, 6 GM's and a BM and I'm not worried about it at all. I think your dress can be as fancy as you want it to be no matter where you're getting married.

I don't think you have to wear a less dramatic dress. I think you should have the ceremony as if you are having it in a church. No need to make it less because you aren't having it in a church. I think everyone in your party is fine. Do do less just because it is at the RH.

I dont think your dress should matter based on whether you get married in a church or RH...Ive seen people wear big dresses with trains at an RH...I wouldn't think it was weird if i saw it...I mean you pick your dress on what you like not where you are getting married...and have as many people in your bp as you'd like. I don't think you should worry about any of this

Re: ceremony troubles
We're getting married @ the RH.
We have 10 in our bridal party .. 5 BM 5 GM (including the MOH AND BM) .. We're not doing a FG & RB .. But we were going to at first.. And my RH is a smaller place but it woulda been fine.
Your dress is what you want it to be. It shouldn't be any less than what you want to wear. People get married at the RH's all the time and have these GORGEOUS dresses!
I feel like this was confusing. If I didn't make sense. let me know please.. i'm scattered brain right now

ditto..
If you're worried about space constraints - I would flat out ask the BM... As far as the dress goes, the only thing that would affect the dressiness would be time and location...

we are having the ceremony outdoors at our RH and we have a 12 person BP. you should get the dress you want, don't worry about where the ceremony is.

Re: ceremony troubles
Go for it....
I've seen large bridal parties at churches too... sometimes that even looks more ridiculous when 9 girls are walking down an extrememly long aisle...and you're like where the hell is the bride?!!!
it's your wedding and even though you may not be religious or you may be an inter-faith wedding should not make you feel like you shouldn't have the dress and the bridal party you want.
good luck!

You can do anything you want to do! It is your day and you wear as big or small of a dress as you want despite where you are getting married!

Wear what you want. It's those old etiquette books that say what type of dress you should wear if you get married in a church vs. else where.
