Those of you getting married at a church....what time is your ceremony and what time is your cocktail hour? We set our mass to be at 4:30 and then CH starts at 7. FH is worried this won't be enough time, but I don't want to make the mass too early because I feel even less people will be there then. Thoughts?

Re: Ceremony/Reception
My ceremony is at 1 and CH at the RH starts at 6.
What day is your wedding? I think on a weekend, asking people to go earlier but on a Friday or weekday, it would be hard.

Re: Ceremony/Reception
Our mass is at 2pm and our CH starts at 6. Originally it was set to start at 7 but we had some opposition about there being too much time between. Our RH was willing to start at 6 pm for us. I went back and forth about it. You have to do what's best for you and FH. I wanted to make sure we had enough time for pictures so that we were not rushed and had to miss part of the CH which we do NOT want to do. But on the other hand, I was getting too wrapped up with what guests would do.
We will most likely be having a full mass so by the time it ends it will be about 3. People will find something to do...Our RH has a restaraunt and bar, so guests will be able to head over as early as 5 I believe.

Re: Ceremony/Reception
Mass is at 2:00pm and champagne/wine/sparkling water greeting starts at 6:30. The real CH starts at 7.
Our reception is about a 35minute drive from the church and since we're getting married on a Friday, we also factored in traffic and enough time for our guests to check in at the hotel.
I think you'll be ok since the following day is a holiday. A lot of people usually get out of work early the day before major holidays (such as 4th of July).

Re: Ceremony/Reception
Our mass starts at 3 and will probably last about an hour, we are also having a receiving line which will take about another 30 minutes. Also, we will take pictures too so that will be about until 5:00. Cocktail hour starts at 6.

Re: Ceremony/Reception
Church is at 4:00, CH is at 7:00. We are not doing a mass. We wanted time in between to take pics. My photographer actually recommended this much time in between. FMIL thought this was too much time in between to entertain guests. I'm actually going to try & call the RH & ask for a hospitality hour. Most people are from Suffolk & our church & RH is in Nassau.

Re: Ceremony/Reception
My mass will probably be at 4:00pm b/c my CH doesn't start till 8:30p. I want to have enough time to take pictures and then go to RH and take more pictures and be able to enjoy my CH.

Re: Ceremony/Reception
Our ceremony is 330 (not having full mass) and CH is 6pm (takes about 25 mins b/w locations) - we think its fine, we don't want guests waiting around for hours in b/w!

Re: Ceremony/Reception
Our ceremony is at 2:30 and the CH starts at 7:00. We have a pretty big gap in between the two.
