Ceremony/Reception Hall Dilemna . . .

Ceremony/Reception Hall Dilemna . . .

I am having a hard time deciding where I should get married. I am getting married in the month of July. My church is not air conditioned, would start the ceremony at 3 and the cocktail hour begins at 6.
My church is 25-30 minutes away from the hall.

My FH's church is Air conditioned, would start the ceremony at 3:30, and is 45-60 minutes away from the hall.

I am worried about there being no air conditioning and too much time in between the ceremnoy and reception if we are to get married at my church, since my hall will only allow guests in the lobby starting at 5:30 (there is no option to accomodate them before hand). I won't have any place for the guests to stay in between (many of them live an hour or more away).

If we get married at my FH's church, I am worried that everything will be rushed, that I won't have many photo opportunities (and this would be awful considering I am paying an arm and a leg for a great photographer). Although he said there is enough time for plenty of pix, and for us to make half of our cocktail hour with no problem (as long as we do not have a full mass). Somehow I still feel like there would be so much rushing.

So, after all of this rambling, I would like to open this up to all of you girls to see what you think I should do . . . Thanks!!!

You'll have plenty of time I think, go for your FH's church....you'll be thankful for the air conditioning, honest.

I don't think I would like getting married in a church with no A/C in July either. If you do decide to have your ceremony in FH's church would you consider taking your pictures beforehand so you aren't rushed?

i think you will have plenty of time for pics if you go with FH's church. to have no A/C in july is risky.

Why don't you consider getting married at the reception hall.

I went to a wedding this past July in an air conditioned church and it was still stiffling. I would recommend the AC.
