Does anyone have info about cervadil? Is it possible that they will administer it and possibly send me home? Or is it once I'm there, I'm there? I'm just trying to emotionally prepare myself and I can't remember exactly what the Dr said! I think he said he is admiting me and inducing and if I get stuck sectioning me. I'm just not sure if he means sectioning me tomorrow, or Thursday which was the original section date! Yikes!!

Re: cervadil
I believe it softens your cervix... They will not let you leave to my knowledge until the baby is born... Good luck with everything... I think I will be the last Sept mama standing

Re: cervadil
You would go in at night, stay over and the next day deliver. I would imagine that there are times where labor can move quicker than overnight, there's no way they would send you home.
Good luck!!

Re: cervadil
I was induced with Cervadil since I was past my due date and the baby was measuring large. I was admitted Wed. nite, my doctor placed it around 6pm and within an hour my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart-they thought I might deliver that night but they let up after a while and I ended up delivering almost 24 hrs later.

Re: cervadil
My dr. said they used to send ladies home with it, but some people can go fast so its not safe.
I was admitted around 7pm, dr. inserted cervadil, and they monitored me all night. In the morning there was no change at all, and they started Pitocin, again nothing.
Since nothing was happening, the baby was not liking certain positions, was estimated to be 9-10lbs (he was 8 lb 8oz) and I was 11 days overdue they scheduled a c/s that night.

You will be there overnight, they will not send you home. AND for the first hour it is in you must lie on your back- you can not get out of bed.

Re: cervadil
Why are you being induced? And you said 'sectioned' why do you think you need a c/s?
