Anyone taking it? Anyone's DH/FH taking it? My DH is taking level 3 this year. He's studying so much and so nervous. Basically all he does is work all week and study all weekend. I can't wait until this is over and I can spend time with him again and he can SLEEP
Just wanted to send to any ladies out there going through the same thing

Good Luck! I'm sure you'll pass - I think it takes a lot of people two tries to pass Level II!
Its such an awful exam - taking up so much time for three years! I miss my DH so much - I am counting down until June 4!
Good luck to you - its almost over!!!!

Re: CFA
I think my DH decided to take a break from it while he is working on his MBA. He failed II twice and he was really getting discouraged.

Re: CFA
juliex sorry to here that! I think the test has that effect on a lot of people. One of my friends failed level II last year and refuses to ever take it again!
That's awesome though that your DH is getting his MBA - where does he go to school? That's my DH's next step after this is done with. But, he started a new job in October that he totally loves so he is thinking of going at night or to an executive program.

DH is going to NYU Stern School in the Langone part time program. He started in the fall.

Re: CFA
What is the CFA for? Until very recently I worked in grad school admissions for a quant finance program and applicants would put the CFA on their application as a credential. Is it a licensing thing? Allows one to do certain kinds of work?

Re: CFA
its stands for Chartered Financial Analyst. its not a license and you dont necessarily need it to do any certain type work. there's not too many ppl with it and its difficult to obtain so it gives you more credibility. i've actually read and heard many ppl say that if you're in finance, it more valuable than an MBA bc its more concentrated.

Re: CFA
I've heard that as well. My DH is in equity research and many of the higher-ups have told him they would rather he get the CFA than an MBA.

Certainly for quant positions an MBA is useless.

My brother has said the same thing that people at his company would rather get the CFA than an MBA.
