yup, i didnt know either bc im not catholic but i asked Fh's mom after we already said yes to the florist and she said its very common and most do it

supposedly its a tradition in catholicism to lay down a bouquet at the statue of the virgin mary as an offering and pray for a blessing on your marriage.

i really like the idea, however, the Blessed Mary is outside at our church, i'm not sure if there is one inside too, i honestly usually sit in the back.
I plan on giving her flowers, but i'm not sure if i'll do it as part of the ceremony or afterwards or before hand by myself.
