Re: Chair Covers
my hall offers them for 7$ each. I know the sand castle in franklin square has them for $3 each. A vendor I found has them for 5.95$ each plus a flat 60$ set up fee. The $3 price is very good, but I've been told that you have to make sure that that includes, delivery, set up, take down, shipping back or pick up, and laundering. The reason why the SC is only 3$ is bc they own them and do everything there. my hall has to rent them and then they also tack on money for the set up and take down. The 5.95$ place also has 4.95 ones which are a little less nice. If you want info on these check the vendor board. good luck.

Re: Chair Covers
As you can see these pics have cream and beige colored linens on the tables with the chair covers but the lady that does the centerpieces told me that in order to pull off this look I would need to 'white out' everything....Meaning white linens, white chair cover (reason for original question) to overcome the colors of the room.
Or to leave the chair covers off and add dusty rose (as the chairs) into the feather arrangement in the way of flowers and then rose colored napkins etc.
I really dont like the look of adding anything with the feathers and the cost of chair covers seems like alot no matter what I do, plus I really like the colors of the room at the Watermill (why I chose it in the first place)...but i love these centerpieces,
What do you think I should do?
Do you think it will look ok if I dont cover the chairs?

Re: Chair Covers
I've always loved the Watermill and the way it looks. I am sure the centerpieces will look beautiful without chair covers... I would think that the chair covers will change the entire look of the room, and I'm sure you fell in love with the place (as I did) for the way it looked before chair covers.

Re: Chair Covers
I really don't think you need the chair covers. I mean you can use that money somewhere else I don't see the necessity for them from the pics posted. However if you are not on a budget and it will be no sacrifice the chair covers will be a nice touch. I for one do not like chair covers b/c for some reason they are not comfortable to me. Its like they make the seat so slippery. It may just be the ones that I have come in contact with though. I am not sure if chair covers need to be of good quality or something to be comfortable.

Re: Chair Covers
I heehed and hawed over this up to the very end...can I just say it did not make a difference. THe room was absolutley beautiful!!! Once the light goes down, nothing else matters!!! If you have it in your budget and you really want to do it go ahead and do it.One place I looked in to that was offering the covers at a really low price, they wanted me to set it up myself and have it returned to them via boxes they provided. Make sure with the price they are offering everything comes with the pkg. Set up, pick up delivery etc.
Happy planning

Re: Chair Covers
I think if you 'white it out' it may be too white and you dont want the centerpieces to blend in with everything else. My opinion is skip the chair covers and use the $$ somewhere else.

Re: Chair Covers
If it were me I would definetely 'white-out'. It would be more dramatic and necessary to pull off the centerpiece look that you want (which by the way I LOVE!!!!!!)

Re: Chair Covers
I think chair covers are not needed, the chairs in that room are very pretty & I'm sure in perfect condition. Honestly the chair covers can get in the way, anytime I've been to an event that had them I felt like I was tripping on them or getting stuck on them. If the chairs in your room were ugly or in bad condition, I would say go for it-but in reality you could use that money to enhance your feather centerpieces. I'm a detail person too, I have a close up pic of my chairs in linens in my bio link. My vote is no & keep your centerpieces white if that's what you really love.

Re: Chair Covers
Tara, I think the centerpieces would look terrific with or without chaircovers. i think the centerpieces are so original and the look could be pulled off without them.By the way, who did you find to do the feathers?

Re: Chair Covers
One suggestion from a girl on ultimateweddings (my other obsession lol) suggested keeping the covers off and just accenting the dusty rose colored chairs by having rose colored lights on the tables instead of the blue ones seen in the pic and using a two tablecloths, one dusty rose and the other white..... hmmmmAlso what if I have the light in the tower softened and do cream colored feathers to match, I think the white is better but I just want to match!! Ahhh
I always wear a white shirt with khaki pants so I dont see why white doesnt go with beige but I guess I see what she meant about white being dramatic.
jennbaby: Im still not sure if this is gonna work I have the woman at Party Sensations in Port Washington finding out if she can make a smaller version for me because the ones in that pic are $150 each to rent
with 100 feathers in eachShe said my ceilings arent really high enough for them anyway (they are very tall) so she is looking into making me a smaller version with less feathers that will hopefully fit my budget,
I really love this look, i hope it works out and you guys are really helping me, the woman just wants more money with chair covers so maybe i dont need them, keep the suggestions comin though

Re: Chair Covers
I would go without them. My cousin got married there and the chairs were fine, and I like the color. The only reason I am considering chair covers is bc my chairs are GREEN!

Re: Chair Covers
I think the chair covers would add drama and make your centerpieces stand out even more. But would the centerpieces look bad without them --> no, not at all. This is one of those 'little things' that you spring for, just because it means so much to you, even though no one else will notice --> or it's the little thing you do without so that you'll save the money and spend it on something else that means so much to you but no one else notices
