I had blocked a hotel back in January for my March 2008 wedding because it was the only one available at the time with a shuttle to and from CLM. This is the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppauge.
I was fine and dandy with this until they opened a new hotel in Farmingdale (The Marriot) that is much closer. The thing is it is $20 more a night.
We have all ready sent out hotel info with our save the date in March and we are trying to figure out what really to do with this with out calling every OOT guest to see what they perfer.

cant you just have blocks at two hotels? Give people an option. Even thought the info was on your save the date, you can easily add more information on an insert with your wedding invitation.

I think you should just keep it, this way your gusts save money, and hopefully holiday inn isn't to much further, plus they get shuttles so it shouldn't effect them to much .. plus you won't have to waste money on printing new things for your OOT guests!

I am afriad to give more then one choice because we need to have 10 rooms blocked and I have about 20 OOT guests so I know not all of them are going to show so I wanted to be safe and meet the min.

I would just stay with what you have, it isn't really worth the stress of trying to get ahold of everyone on your OOT list

I agree - It's always nice to give your guests options since it is very hard to do especially when planning a wedding ( you are giving them the illusion of having a choice & not feel trapped/obligated with your choices).

I have 2 hotel options for my OOT guest one is $105/night & the other is $129/night. The $129/night is closer to my hall by only 1 mile.

you should do another block of rooms, and send a little letter saying here's a new option if your interested or something like that. that way they have a choice. I personally think the Marriot is better plus it's closer, that's always good.
