I have been reading the reviews for SWH with great trepidation. I really didn't think we would like it so we switched to San Souci in Ochos Rios. We ended up saving over $1000 which really made a dent in my wedding stress!

It really came down to what we wanted in our honeymoon. I haven't heard a ton of negatives- mostly that the food is good to just ok- I don't know about you but being from NY and now living in LA, we are very spoiled by our restaurants. I love to cook and eat and when I hear just ok, I cringe. All three restaurants are served out of the same kitchen, so it tends to be the same quality of food at each place.
Don't get me wrong- I think Whitehouse will be great, just not for $1000 more. It sounds like there are a lot of partiers and we wanted quiet and romantic. San Souci also included golf nearby and a couples massage in the price- both things each of us wanted. So please, don't be concerned, its just that the more I read, the more I felt it wasn't for us.

I am not sure which sites Christine visited, but I find tripadvisor.com to be very helpful! People write in and share their reviews of their trips. It helped us decide which resort to book in St. Lucia.

Re: Changed my honeymoon from Sandals Whitehouse
They just opened in what...February? They probably still have a lot of adjustments to make with their menu and such. They're probably getting negative comments now, because things are just getting started there. Nothing's perfect right from the get-go.
ETA: Just trying to justify the negative comments for anybody that's getting worried

Re: Changed my honeymoon from Sandals Whitehouse
Please- I didn't post this to worry anyone- now I am sort of sorry that I did. I just know that there are probably others like me who booked it thinking it was one type of vacation when it really isn't. I am sure it will be great! It just seemed like a lot of money to be at a new resort that was working on getting the kinks out. I just wanted to share another option for those still looking for honeymoons. Definately check out www.tripadvisor.com and www.chris-n-cheryl.com for more information and make decisions based on what YOU want. Both sites give really good information.
Sorry if I worried anyone! Please that was not my intent!
